Welcome to Stove Care and Repair, our refurbishing and engineering workshops started out in September 2009 very soon we were refurbishing around 150 stoves a year.
Stove care and Repair are now very keen to work towards the new 2022 clean air objective, under new regulations that come in to effect in 2022 all stove that are installed by an certificate engineer have to be Stove Industry Alliance (SIA) approved you may ask what this means?
Ecodesign Ready Stoves have been welcomed by Defra in its Clean Air Strategy as a recommended way of significantly reducing emissions. Defra has included the Ecodesign Ready Scheme in its plans to improve air quality.
Independent tests carried out for the SIA have shown Ecodesign Ready Stoves reduce emissions by 90% compared to an open fire and by 80% compared with an average 10-year-old stove.
Due to the new regulations we have found that the inefficiencies of an old burner is both damaging to the environment and is also more expensive to run.
In 2020 Stove Care and Repair took the decision to close our refurbishing workshops and expand our showroom to take onboard all the new designs of SIA approved stove.
